Sorrow Sleeps explores a peculiar truth about grief: it does not always disappear. Sometimes it simply becomes quiet.

A monumental face rests with its eye closed while a solitary blue tear escapes into the abstract forms below. The figure appears peaceful, yet the tear reveals something still alive beneath that stillness.

The surrounding shapes suggest fragments of memory, people, experiences, or pieces of a life carried within the sleeping figure. They remain deliberately unresolved, allowing the viewer's own experiences to inhabit the painting.

The title suggests that sorrow can become dormant without ever truly leaving us. Time may soften grief. Life continues. We laugh again, love again, and move forward. Yet somewhere beneath the surface, what we have lost remains part of who we are.
