A partially closed eye looks downward while muted greens, violets, flesh tones, and curling spirals surround the figure. There is no obvious event taking place. The drama exists entirely within the expression.
The title deliberately leaves the question unfinished.
Am I enough? Am I happy? Am I loved? Am I right? Am I becoming who I intended to become? Am I even the person I believe myself to be?
The spiraling forms suggest thoughts that circle, return, and deepen as contemplation becomes introspection. Rather than revealing what the figure is thinking, Am I leaves an empty space after the question and allows each viewer to fill it with something of their own.
